Tajdid
In a time of unprecedented global challenges—climate change, unsustainable development, the ethical dilemmas of various technologies, pandemics, resource depletion, and growing social inequalities—the world stands at a critical crossroads. Solutions to these complex problems require more than just technical expertise; they demand a moral vision, a deep sense of responsibility, and a renewed understanding of our place in the universe. For the global Muslim community, this moment presents both a challenge and a profound opportunity: to revive the rich legacy of inquiry, ethics, and stewardship rooted in the Islamic tradition.
Islam has always emphasized the pursuit of knowledge, the contemplation of creation, and the obligation to benefit humanity. Yet today, the integration of faith and reason—once the hallmark of Islamic civilization—has been largely neglected. While past Muslim scholars pioneered advancements at diverse fronts driven by both intellectual rigor and spiritual conviction, much of the contemporary Muslim world remains disconnected from this spirit. The Muslim ummah, as a fifth of the world's population, cannot remain passive in the face of global crises. From climate action to technological ethics, from economic inequality to ecological responsibility, Muslims have both a spiritual duty and a civilizational role to play in shaping the common future of humanity. The revival of that ethos is necessary in order to reclaim a glorious past and shape a meaningful, responsible, and hopeful future. Reviving the spirit of inquiry in Islam is not a luxury but a necessity. Through this revival, Muslims can fulfill their role as khulafāʾ (stewards) of the Earth and as shuhadāʾ (witnesses) to the truth.
Tajdid, our flagship initiative is a call to rediscover and reawaken the Islamic foundations of scientific inquiry and ethical reasoning. It is a response to the urgent need for Muslim thinkers, scientists, scholars, and communities to engage critically with the modern world, not from a position of reaction, but from one of contribution.
At the core of Tajdid is our belief that Quran, Hadith and the teachings of Quroon-e-Aula encourage reason, reflection, and inquiry. These divine principles laid the foundation for a civilization that once led the world in science, philosophy, medicine, astronomy, mathematics, and more. We draw inspiration from the teachings of Islam to nurture a mindset rooted in ethics, curiosity, and the pursuit of truth. Through Tajdid, we explore and share the stories of forgotten visionaries—pioneers who changed the world with their ideas. We encourage students, researchers, and educators to reflect on the Islamic teachings of inquiry, creativity, and purpose in today’s academic and scientific landscape. The initiative spans over hosting articles, discussions, campaigns, collaborative research projects and more activities that reconnect us with our intellectual roots and inspire a new era of discovery grounded in values and vision. By embracing both revelation and reason, Muslims can offer solutions grounded in values of justice, compassion, and sustainability which are desperately needed in a fragmented and rapidly changing world.
Miraj
In today’s fast-changing world, students face a range of challenges. They are often overwhelmed by the pressure to perform, yet under-equipped when it comes to critical skills like analytical thinking, problem-solving, and ethical decision-making. In many parts of the developing world, access to quality education and mentorship in research remains limited. Even where resources are available, research is sometimes perceived as abstract, tedious, or disconnected from real-world relevance. Many students never get the chance to explore their curiosity or understand how research can be a meaningful tool to improve society. Miraj is an ambitious initiative of UNIT313 dedicated to equipping today’s youth with the tools, skills, and mindset required to excel in the fields of research, innovation, and discovery. Miraj believes that research is not reserved for a select few, it is a journey that every curious and thoughtful mind can embark upon. It aims to make research accessible, engaging, and purpose-driven for young minds across the globe. Through a combination of various types of activities and learning means, Miraj helps students overcome fear, confusion, and disengagement from research. It offers clarity, structure, and inspiration—helping them realize that research is not just about data and journals, but about asking the right questions, solving problems, and making impactful contributions to their communities and the world.
Through Miraj, we organize:
- Workshops and training programs that teach research skills, data analysis, critical thinking, and academic writing.
Mentorship programs connecting students and aspiring researchers with experienced scholars and professionals.
Publication opportunities in our newsletters to give voice to young researchers.
Collaborative research projects that allow students to work on real-world issues under guided supervision.
The initiative places strong emphasis on ethics, creativity, and clarity thereby encouraging students to see research not just as an academic pursuit, but as a responsibility to contribute positively to the world. It helps young researchers build a foundation that is both intellectually strong and morally sound. In a future shaped by rapid advancements, global challenges, and information overload, research skills are no longer optional but essential. Miraj prepares students to understand the world and change it for a better tomorrow.
Campus Ambassador Program
Our Campus Ambassador Program is designed to identify and empower passionate students across universities and colleges to represent UNIT313 and its values within their academic institutions. The program offers selected ambassadors leadership training, exclusive networking opportunities, certificates, and access to UNIT313's development tracks. Most importantly, it enables them to create meaningful impact within their academic communities while growing as professionals and change agents.
Ambassadors are:
- ● Leaders who promote UNIT313's mission among peers.
- ● Organizers who initiate events, study circles, awareness drives, and research activities both online and on campus.
- ● Advocates for positive change in education, research culture, and youth development.
